Team Record: 78-84
4th in the AL Central
The Indians were expected to contend for the AL Central title, but instead would flounder, ending the season 6 games under .500. A strong offence and very good starting pitching should have made this team a playoff contender--their pythagorean record was 89-73! But a terrible bullpen hobbled any chance that this team had of both contention and a winning record.
