Team Record: 87-75

Pythagorean: 87-75

5th in the American League

the Indians were not a bad team in 1965.  1B Fred Whitfield (OPS+ 131), OF Leon Wagner (OPS+ 143) and OF Colavito (OPS+ 140) all had strong seasons, while the pitching was strong with Sam McDowell (ERA+ 161), Sonny Siebert (ERA+ 144). The pen was also very good with Gary Bell, Lee Stange and Don McMahon.  But Detroit, Chicago, and Baltimore all fielded excellent teams, dooming the Tribe to settle in the middle of the AL standings.

1965 Topps Cleveland Indians

6 Series (30 cards)

Wax Packs: 5 cents a pack (5 cards)

Cards of Note in this set: The only Indians card of note is #145 Luis Tiant (3.0 PSA weight), which is his first card. #380 Colavito is also popular (PSA 3.5w).

This is one of my favorite Topps sets.  Attractive, not too expensive and lots of HOF and rookie cards.
